 FAQs

+ How long does a treatment last?

Your first treatment takes up to 90 minutes, this allows enough time for your initial consultation and treatment.
All 'standard' appointment times are 60 mins and include a catch up, 45 minutes of 'hands on treatment' and a brief discussion/feedback afterwards.

+ Are there circumstances where I cannot be treated?

All Treatments

If you have a medical condition or have recently had a procedure and you're unsure about receiving a treatment, please seek advice from your GP or consultant.

Contraindications include all severe circulatory issues including blood clots (DVT), phlebitis, severe varicose veins, an uncontrolled heart condition, intoxication or severe pain of unknown origin.

Please do not attend if you have a high fever or contagious illness including any systemic infection, cold or flu.

If you are unsure of anything that you think may put you at risk, please mention this to me before booking your consultation treatment.

Foot Reflexology

If you have gout, foot ulcers, large open wounds, rashes, cuts, sores, sunburn, ulcers, dermatitis, infections, or broken bones/fracture/injury to the foot, leg or ankle I cannot treat you. If you have a fungal infection such as athlete’s foot, or a fungal nail infection, it may be possible to treat you whilst wearing gloves. For Hot Stone Foot Reflexology the same conditions apply, however please refer to "Hot Stones" below to see additional information applying specifically to heated treatments.

Facial Reflexology / Zone face Lift / Gua Sha

If you have active cold sores/herpes outbreak, conjuctivitus or eye infection, severe acne cysts, cellulitis, impetigo or active skin infection, open wounds, burns, sunburn, recent scar tissue, stitches, facial trauma, severe allergic skin reaction or dermatitis flare I cannot treat you.

If you have received botox, it is important you let me know. I cannot treat you until 3 weeks after your procedure. If you have received any harsh facial treatment which has left the skin feeling sensitive, or have any bruising/wounds/sores/rashes on the skin, or have recently undergone dental surgery, I cannot treat you until things have settled and healed.

Hot Stones

Contraindications include any cardiac condition, anyone receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatment and pregnancy.

If you have neuropathy, nerve damage or any condition that has caused loss of sensation in the feet, including diabetes, peripheral vascular disorder, high blood pressure, injury or trauma where the nerves have been affected I cannot treat you with heated stones. Contraindications also include sunburn, heat rash or heat sensitive skin conditions, inflammation or acute swelling or oedema in the feet/legs, poor circulation, very fragile or thin skin, varicose veigns, fever or elevated body temperature, uncontrolled high blood pressure, any medications causing heat sensitivity or any form of skin damage on the feet.

Please also refer to my Covid policy here.

+ How can I expect to feel afterward?

It is very important to know that the body’s healing process may trigger some temporary symptoms such as; headaches, nausea, cold like symptoms, increased urination or bowel movements, increased/decreased energy levels, feeling warm or cold, a change in sleep pattern, a more positive attitude/feeling calmer, or a change in your presenting condition.
These symptoms are totally normal and are the body’s way of rebalancing itself. You may also feel a little more sensitive to alcohol and caffeine, so it is important to be mindful of this. Please listen to your body for the full benefits of reflexology. Make sure you drink plenty of water and eat light meals only. If you are worried about anything at all please do not hesitate to contact me.

+ What's your cancellation policy?

I understand life 'happens' sometimes! So please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Without 24 hours notice I charge the full cost of the booking.

+ Can reflexology cure my condition?

Reflexology cannot cure a condition. We as reflexologists also cannot diagnose a condition. Reflexology CAN ease the symptoms of conditions and improve your overall health and wellbeing.
If there is something that I feel is outside of my remit, I will refer you to another medical healthcare professional so that you are supported in the best way.

+ What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes, nothing too tight such as jeans/trousers so I can access up to the knee if I need to. Your feet are apart during the treatment so if you are wearing a skirt I can provide you with a blanket. You'll take off your shoes and socks whilst I am treating you.

+ Is there anything I should do in preparation for a treatment?

Please ensure your feet are clean and try to remove any areas of hard skin prior to treatments. (Don’t worry if you can’t, everyone gets hard skin on their feet!) This will just make it easier for me to get to the reflexes.

+ Do you offer mobile treatments?

Yes, I can treat you in the comfort of your own home. To enquire you can contact me here.

+ Is there disabled access?

Unfortunately not, as the treatments are given from my home which is not equipped for disabled access. Please consider a mobile service where I visit you in the comfort of your own space. To enquire you can contact me here.

+ Can I book for an event / group?

Yes, this can include anything from corporate sessions, festivals, or the morning of your wedding. I am open to ideas! Contact me here for a chat to discuss further.
